England captain and Ballon d’Or winner Harry Kane has signed a new contract with Bayern Munich that will keep him at the German club until June 30, 2029, putting an end to speculation about his long term future.
The 33 year old striker confirmed his commitment to the Bundesliga champions on Thursday, November 5, 2026, after agreeing to extend his existing deal, which was entering its final year.
Kane, who joined Bayern from Tottenham Hotspur in August 2023, has enjoyed an outstanding spell in Germany. He has scored 156 goals in 161 competitive appearances, establishing himself as one of the club’s most important players.
Speaking after signing the extension, Kane expressed his happiness with life in Munich, saying he feels at home at the club and wants to continue winning trophies with the team.
He also praised Bayern’s supporters, the city and manager Vincent Kompany, adding that his family is equally happy with their life in Germany.
His decision to remain at Bayern comes shortly after a major personal achievement, having won the 2026 Ballon d’Or. The award made him the first Englishman since Michael Owen in 2001 to claim the prestigious men’s honour.
Since arriving in Munich, Kane has helped Bayern secure two Bundesliga titles, the German Cup and two German Super Cups. He has also won the Bundesliga Golden Boot in each of his first three seasons at the club and claimed the European Golden Shoe twice.
His impressive performances have strengthened his position as one of Europe’s most prolific forwards, while his leadership has made him an important figure in Kompany’s team.
Bayern chief executive Jan-Christian Dreesen welcomed the new agreement, describing it as a commitment to the club and a story that still has more chapters to come. Sporting director Christoph Freund also praised Kane’s qualities, highlighting his contribution both on and off the pitch.
The financial details of the new contract were not officially disclosed, although reports suggest it is among the most lucrative agreements in Bayern’s history.
Kane had previously been linked with a possible return to the Premier League, particularly as he continues to chase Alan Shearer’s record of 260 goals in the competition. However, his latest decision indicates that his immediate priority is to continue building his legacy in German football.
With his future settled until 2029, Bayern will be hoping their record-breaking striker can deliver more domestic and European success, including the Champions League trophy that remains a major ambition.
