Former U.S. presidents Joe Biden, Bill Clinton and George W. Bush joined Barack Obama and Michelle Obama in Chicago for the opening of the Obama Presidential Center, marking a major milestone in the former president’s post-White House legacy.

The $850 million center, located on Chicago’s South Side, features a museum, library, performing arts spaces, athletic facilities and community programs designed to promote civic engagement and leadership. The campus officially opened to the public on June 19 following a dedication ceremony attended by political leaders, celebrities and thousands of guests.

During the ceremony, Obama called on citizens to become more involved in shaping their communities and defending democratic values. Michelle Obama also spoke about the importance of hope, service and public participation.

The event featured performances from major international artists, including Stevie Wonder, John Legend, Tems and Bruce Springsteen, highlighting the cultural significance of the occasion.
