Rapper Odumodublvck ignited social-media firestorms on November 1, 2025 by launching a blistering public attack against veteran rapper M.I Abaga. The outburst, delivered on his X (formerly Twitter) handle, saw Odumodublvck accuse M.I of hypocrisy, cowardice and betrayal.
Odumodublvck’s post read in part: “@MI_Abaga … the whole world are going to be so shocked that I’m talking to you like this and I know they will come for me because you’re very good at portraying the ‘good’ guy… One thing they didn’t tell you is that I don’t care about public opinion — unlike you.” He continued: “You stood in front of a blatant lie and decided to sit on the fence like Abuchi. I have lost every iota of respect for you. Short man devil. you no be my OG. You are nothing but a rat. I bet you won’t reply because I am saying the truth.”
What makes this confrontation especially striking is that just months ago, M.I publicly praised Odumodublvck for his talent and described him as “Nigeria’s hottest rapper”. In September 2024, M.I said Odumodublvck was a “uniting force” bridging old-school and new-school rap. The abrupt shift from endorsement to condemnation raises questions about what triggered such a dramatic escalation.
The exact incident that ignited Odumodublvck’s fury remains opaque. Multiple news outlets note that he referred to a “blatant lie” that M.I purportedly stood in front of, choosing neutrality over action. Some commentary suggests that this fallout may be tied to Odumodublvck’s wider battles within the rap scene, including his ongoing feud with fellow rapper Blaqbonez and the artist’s previous criticisms of music-industry practices such as streaming farm allegations and label misconduct.
The backdrop is significant: M.I Abaga is widely recognized as one of the architects of Nigerian English-language hip-hop, co-founder of Chocolate City, and a respected voice in the industry. Odumodublvck, born Tochukwu Ojogwu, has emerged in recent years as one of the most dynamic younger rappers in Nigeria, known for his singular style, audacious social commentary, and hits such as “Declan Rice”.
This clash touches on several core issues: loyalty and respect in the rap community; generational shifts and tensions between established figures and rising stars; and the ever-present question of authenticity in an era of streaming, brand deals and social-media posturing. Odumodublvck’s statement that he doesn’t care about public opinion and his accusation that M.I prioritises image over substance signal an ideological as well as personal conflict.
Industry reaction has been swift and divided. Some insiders and fans have criticized Odumodublvck for publicly disrespecting a “legend” in M.I Abaga — suggesting that regardless of personal grievances, the move may alienate him from potential allies and tarnish his brand. Others, however, have defended the younger rapper’s right to challenge the status quo, arguing that no figure, however venerable should be beyond constructive scrutiny or accountability.
As of now, M.I Abaga has not issued any public response to Odumodublvck’s allegations. Observers are watching closely for a statement, a track, or any sign that this confrontation may escalate into diss songs, interviews or further public back-and-forth.
For Odumodublvck, this moment is high-risk: he stands to gain credibility among fans who value raw honesty and confrontation, but he may also incur costs among industry gatekeepers and peers. For M.I, the silence may be strategic, but lingering unanswered questions could affect his stature among newer audiences expecting transparency and responsiveness.
In the coming days we may see one of several scenarios: an apology, a direct retort from M.I, diss tracks from one or both sides, or the matter fading into the background as other controversies emerge.
