Grammy‑nominated Afrobeats artist Lojay announced his very first full-length studio album, XOXO, slated for release on August 22, 2025.

Described as “messy, emotional, sexy, and honest,” Lojay likened the album’s essence to a late-night text you probably shouldn’t send… but end up sending anyway.

To promote the album, Lojay released several singles, including “Somebody Like You” (produced by Sarz), “MWAH!” featuring Odeal, and his latest single “Tenner” produced by Black Culture. In addition to album news, Lojay announced a global ‘XOXO Tour’, his biggest headline run yet, kicking off in September 2025 across major European cities before continuing into North America in October.

However, on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, just two days before the scheduled release. Lojay took to X (formerly Twitter) to announce the postponement of XOXO. He explained the delay as necessary, needing “a little more time” to perfect the album before letting it out into the world.

This unexpected turn has left fans buzzing, though not unprecedented in the music industry, such last-minute tweaks often signal an artist’s uncompromising dedication to quality.

Lojay hasn’t shared a new release date yet, so it remains unclear exactly how much longer fans will wait. Still, with multiple singles out and all the promotional momentum already built up, anticipation is likely to intensify further, especially if he drops another teaser or single before the countdown begins again.

Meanwhile, the XOXO Tour dates remain on schedule, offering fans hope that the album’s release will align before the tour kicks off.

For a debut album, timing is everything. Lojay’s decision to delay points to his commitment to delivering an authentic and polished project which can heighten the impact of XOXO once it finally arrives. As a storytelling-focused artist, ensuring every lyric, beat, and emotion hits the mark matters deeply.

As the days tick down, one thing’s for sure: the world is waiting, and when XOXO does land, it’s sure to make waves.
