Award Winning Songwriter Talay Riley Stabbed to Death, Sending Shockwaves Through Music World

Talay Riley the acclaimed British singer songwriter behind hits for some of the world’s biggest music stars, has died after a fatal stabbing in east London.

Riley whose real name was Mark Orabiyi, was found with stab wounds in Silvertown on June 5 and was pronounced dead at the scene. The musician was widely respected in the music industry for writing and producing songs for artists including Dua Lipa, Britney Spears, Craig David, Zendaya, Khalid, H.E.R., and The Chainsmokers.

His death has triggered an outpouring of grief from across the entertainment world. Artists including Stormzy, Craig David, Oritsé Williams, Wretch 32, Khalid, and Kehlani paid tribute to Riley, remembering him as a gifted songwriter, mentor, and positive influence whose work helped shape modern pop and R&B music.

Three people were arrested following the stabbing, although two were released without further action while another was released on bail pending further inquiries.
