Yung Filly Rejects Sexual Assault Allegations As He Gives Evidence In Australian Court Over 2024 Hotel Incident

UK rapper and internet personality Yung Filly has told an Australian court that the “vibes were good” between him and the woman accusing him of sexual assault, as he gave evidence in his ongoing criminal trial.

The entertainer, whose real name is Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, has pleaded not guilty to multiple charges, including sexual penetration without consent, assault occasioning bodily harm and strangulation. The allegations relate to an incident in Perth in September 2024 after he performed at a nightclub in the coastal suburb of Hillarys.

Taking the witness stand, Barrientos said he was attracted to the woman when they first met at the venue and insisted their interactions remained friendly and consensual throughout the evening. He denied behaving inappropriately and rejected the prosecution’s allegations.

Barrientos also told the court that his security team collected the woman’s mobile phone before she entered his hotel room, describing it as a routine measure to protect the privacy of guests.

Prosecutors allege that while the encounter began consensually, it later became violent after the woman withdrew her consent. Barrientos denies those claims, and the trial continues before the District Court of Western Australia.

Yung Filly rose to fame through YouTube as a member of Beta Squad before building a successful career in music and television, including appearances on BBC Three and Channel 4. He has remained on bail throughout the proceedings and returned from the UK to Australia to stand trial.

The case remains before the court, and no verdict has yet been reached.
