Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Davido has been confirmed as one of the headline performers for FIFA’s World Cup 2026 Countdown Concert in Los Angeles, adding another major international milestone to his career ahead of football’s biggest tournament.

The concert, scheduled for June 10 at the Crypto.com Arena, will form part of a synchronized music event linking the three World Cup host nations the United States, Canada, and Mexico. FIFA confirmed that Davido will perform alongside Major Lazer, with additional artists expected to be announced.

According to FIFA, the concert series is designed to unite football, music, and culture ahead of the expanded 2026 World Cup, which will feature 48 teams and be jointly hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico. The events will be broadcast across the three countries as part of the tournament’s countdown celebrations.

Davido’s inclusion further highlights the growing global influence of Afrobeats and follows his previous involvement with FIFA after performing on the official soundtrack for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. His appearance at the Countdown Concert places him among a select group of international artists chosen to help launch festivities for the tournament.

The announcement has been welcomed by fans, with many viewing it as another significant moment for Nigerian music on the world stage as anticipation builds for the biggest FIFA World Cup in history.
