The 2025/26 Premier League season ended with emotion, drama, and major changes that could reshape English football for years to come. Arsenal finally ended their 22-year wait for a league title, Pep Guardiola officially said goodbye to Manchester City after a historic decade, and Liverpool fans witnessed Mohamed Salah’s emotional farewell at Anfield.
Under manager Mikel Arteta, Arsenal completed one of football’s greatest rebuilds by dethroning Manchester City and winning their first Premier League title since the legendary “Invincibles” season of 2004. The celebrations across North London marked the reward for years of patience, investment, and belief in Arteta’s long-term project.
At Manchester City, an era officially came to an end as Pep Guardiola prepared to leave the club after 10 years filled with dominance and trophies. Guardiola transformed City into one of the greatest teams in modern football, winning multiple league titles, domestic cups, and the UEFA Champions League during his spell at the Etihad. Reports suggest former assistant Enzo Maresca could replace him as City begin life after Guardiola.
Liverpool also experienced an emotional goodbye as Mohamed Salah played his final game for the club. Salah leaves Anfield as one of the greatest players in Liverpool history after nearly a decade of goals, records, and trophies. Defender Andrew Robertson is also expected to depart as Liverpool prepare for another rebuild under manager Arne Slot.
Several managers are also leaving their clubs following the end of the season. Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola departs after guiding the club into European football, while multiple clubs across the league are expected to begin managerial changes ahead of next season.
At the bottom of the table, heartbreak struck for West Ham United, Wolverhampton Wanderers, and Burnley as all three clubs were relegated from the Premier League after disappointing campaigns. West Ham’s relegation was especially painful as they won on the final day but still failed to survive.
Meanwhile, Coventry City and Ipswich Town secured promotion back to the Premier League, while another club will complete the promoted trio through the Championship playoff final. Sunderland also completed a remarkable season by surviving relegation and qualifying for Europe after recently returning to the top flight.
With Arsenal rising again, Guardiola leaving City, Salah departing Liverpool, and several clubs entering new chapters, the Premier League now looks set for one of its biggest transitions in years.
