American rapper, Yung Miami has publicly accused South African pop sensation Tyla of stealing the concept for her upcoming track “Chanel”.
The City Girls rapper claims she first played her version of “Chanel” to Tyla, only to later see Tyla tease a remarkably similar song. The dispute centers around the lyrical theme of the word Chanel, with both songs reportedly featuring luxury-inspired hooks. Yung Miami claimed her version used the line “Take me to Chanel,” while Tyla’s teased track reportedly repeats “Put me in Chanel.”
Tyla, known globally for her viral hit Water, is yet to respond to the allegations. She first previewed Chanel during a private fan listening event in July 2025, describing it as part of her WWP EP, a project meant to serve as a transition to her next album.
The controversy quickly divided fans online, with some defending Tyla’s creativity and others backing Yung Miami’s claims of idea theft.
