Afrobeats queen Tiwa Savage has once again addressed long-running claims that she doesn’t collaborate with fellow female artists, and this time, she’s setting the record straight with facts.

In her recent appearance on the OffAir with Gbemi & Toolz podcast, Tiwa firmly denied ever blocking or refusing to work with other women in the industry. Calling the rumors “hurtful” and “false,” she challenged critics to name a single artist she’s ever deliberately sabotaged.

Tiwa did not just deny, she pointed to her track record and reposted a post from WeTalkSound on her Instagram Stories. The post highlighted a timeline of her numerous collaborations with women, backing her statements with real receipts.

This list paints a clear picture: Tiwa has, over time, repeatedly collaborated with and amplified the voices of female artistes.

These rumours haven’t come out of nowhere. Over the years, fans, media and fellow artistes have floated claims that Tiwa Savage doesn’t collaborate enough with other women, or that she has a strained relationship with female peers, despite this track record. These claims  has been amplified by comments from peers like Victoria Kimani, who accused Tiwa of limiting opportunities, a public fallout with Seyi Shay and industry silence, where in many cases, promoters or third parties create situations where only one woman is booked, yet fans blame the artist rather than the system

Tiwa’s defense isn’t just about her, it’s about pushing back against a systemic issue where women in music are often pitted against each other. In the male-dominated Afrobeats space, it’s still rare to see multiple women on one lineup, tour, or collaboration project.

Her comments and reposts serve as a challenge to the industry to do better in platforming multiple female talents at once, media outlets to avoid sensational narratives that undermine solidarity and fans to recognize the work being done and avoid fueling false competition
