Russia has warned that the UK will face consequences over reports that British-made drones supplied to Ukraine have been used in long range strikes against targets deep inside Russian territory. The Russian Embassy in London accused Britain of deliberately escalating the war and said the deeper the UK’s involvement and support for Ukraine, the “higher the price” it would pay. Moscow’s warning followed reports that drones produced by two British companies had been used against Russian military and industrial targets, including oil facilities.

The UK Ministry of Defence did not confirm specific details about the reported strikes but reaffirmed Britain’s support for Ukraine, saying the government remains committed to providing Kyiv with the equipment needed to defend itself against Russia’s invasion. Britain has significantly expanded its drone support for Ukraine. The UK government says it plans to deliver 150,000 drones and 350 air defence missiles by the end of 2026, as part of its wider military assistance.

The dispute comes as Ukraine has increasingly relied on long-range drones to strike Russian military, energy and industrial infrastructure, while Russia continues its own large-scale drone and missile attacks on Ukrainian targets. The latest warning highlights growing tensions between Moscow and London and raises concerns that continued Western military support for Ukraine could further increase the risk of confrontation between Russia and NATO countries.
