Tiwa Savage Shuts Down Wizkid Romance Rumors: ‘It Was Never Him’

Nigerian superstar Tiwa Savage has finally addressed rumors that she once had a clandestine romance with fellow Afrobeats heavyweight Wizkid.

In a candid interview on The Breakfast Club, she denied the rumors and clarified that the unnamed romance she referenced was with someone else entirely,  and not with Wizkid.

During her appearance on The Breakfast Club, Tiwa Savage was prompted to address years of speculation about her private life. She emphasized that he romance she previously hinted at was with a non-artist, someone outside the music industry. She noted that her connection with Wizkid has always been professional and friendly, not romantic.

Tiwa Savage and Wizkid have collaborated in the past, shared stages, and appeared in each other’s orbit in the Afrobeats scene. That visibility naturally fuels speculation, especially when celebrity relationships are the public’s favorite pastime. She previously teased the existence of a romantic involvement with an unnamed public figure. Without naming names, she left room for interpretation, which many fans filled with assumptions pointing to the most obvious candidate: Wizkid.

The decision to clarify, she said, was meant to end years of speculation and gossip.
