Police arrest suspects in connection to Lil Kesh’s stabbing

Police in Nigeria have confirmed the arrest of two prime suspects over the brutal stabbing and robbery of singer Ololade Keshinro, better known as Lil Kesh.

Recall that on August 19, 2025, Lil Kesh was attacked at his home in Bera Estate, Chevron, Lagos. The attackers allegedly stabbed him in the neck and inflicted other wounds.

Following the incident, Lil Kesh reassured fans via his social media that he was “safe, healing, and blessed,”.

The suspects, identified as 25-year-old Mathew Adewole and 31-year-old Mukhtar Muhammad, were apprehended in Na’ibawa Quarters, Kano, following an intelligence-led operation.

One of the suspects, Adewole reportedly admitted to carrying out the attack and transferred ₦2,120,000 from his own account to Muhammad’s via his phone. The police also recovered ₦2.12 million from the suspects which is believed to be from the robbery connected to the attack. Both suspects have been moved to the Lagos State Police Command for further investigation and for prosecution.

The Lagos State Police Command will now conduct further investigations. Evidence, including money transfers and admissions, should be scrutinized in court.  If found guilty, the suspects could face serious charges, attempted murder, robbery, assault. Sentencing will depend on how the case is constructed and the strength of the evidence.
