Nigerian Star Tems Set for Performance at Obama Presidential Center Launch

Nigerian Grammy winning singer Tems has been announced as one of the performers at the grand opening ceremony of the Obama Presidential Center in Chicago, marking another major international milestone in her career.

The event scheduled for June 18, will celebrate the official opening of the center founded by former U.S. President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama. Tems will share the stage with global stars including Stevie Wonder, John Legend, Jennifer Hudson, Bruce Springsteen, Bono and Marc Anthony.

The Obama Presidential Center is a 19 acre campus on Chicago’s South Side designed to promote leadership, civic engagement and community development. The opening ceremony will be livestreamed globally, with the center opening to the public the following day.

Tems’ inclusion in the high profile event further highlights her growing global influence as one of Africa’s most celebrated music stars.
