Afrobeats Icon, Wizkid to Join Star-Studded Afro +Fest as Special Guest

One of Afrobeats’ most iconic figures, Wizkid has been officially announced as a special guest performer, bringing his global star power to Washington D.C. on Sunday, August 31, 2025, at the RFK Festival Grounds.

Presented by Events DC, Afro+ Fest is set to be a high-energy, culture-rich celebration that will gather fans of African music, dance, and creativity for one unforgettable day. With a mission to amplify African and Diasporic talent, the festival will feature a blend of live performances, food, art, and immersive cultural experiences, uniting thousands in the nation’s capital.

Wizkid joins an already dazzling lineup, including Gunna, Asake, Machel Montano, Shenseea, Uncle Waffles, Shatta Wale, Wande Coal, and more

The festival’s carefully curated lineup reflects its cross-continental vision, bringing together stars from Afrobeats, dancehall, hip-hop, soca, amapiano, and R&B to create a one-of-a-kind sonic experience.

In addition to the music, Afro+ Fest is designed to be a full-day cultural experience, running from 12 PM to 11 PM. Festivalgoers can expect, art installations showcasing African visual aesthetics, African and Caribbean food vendors, fashion activations and brand pop-ups, curated marketplace featuring Black-owned businesses and community-led storytelling and networking opportunities

With support from DC Mayor Muriel Bowser and the backing of Events DC, the festival has the city’s full embrace as it sets a new cultural benchmark.
