Mohamed Salah has officially brought an end to his legendary Liverpool journey after an emotional farewell at Anfield, closing the chapter on one of the greatest careers in the club’s modern history.
Salah played his final game for Liverpool F.C. after nine remarkable years that saw him score 257 goals in more than 440 appearances, helping the club win major trophies including the Premier League, UEFA Champions League, FA Cup, and League Cups.
The Egyptian forward received an emotional send-off during Liverpool’s final Premier League match against Brentford, where he provided an assist before leaving the pitch to a standing ovation from supporters. Salah was visibly emotional as fans sang “You’ll Never Walk Alone,” while teammates and club legends honoured him after the match.
Salah leaves Liverpool as one of the greatest players ever to wear the famous red shirt. During his time at Anfield, he broke multiple records, became Liverpool’s top Premier League scorer, won four Golden Boots, and established himself as one of Africa’s most successful footballers.
His departure also marks the end of a major era for Liverpool, with longtime teammate Andy Robertson also expected to leave the club this summer. Questions now remain over Liverpool’s rebuild under manager Arne Slot following a difficult season despite securing Champions League qualification.
While Salah’s next destination remains uncertain, reports continue linking him with clubs in Saudi Arabia, the United States, and Europe. Regardless of where he plays next, his legacy at Liverpool is already firmly secured among the club’s all-time greats.
