Nigerian superstar Davido is ready to set Rwanda’s capital ablaze when he takes the stage at Kigali’s BK Arena on December 5 as part of his world-tour for his fifth studio album, 5IVE. The announcement marks a major milestone both for Davido and for Kigali as a rising destination for major live entertainment.

Davido released 5IVE in April 2025, a high-profile project featuring collaborations with international artists, and promptly launched the “5IVE Alive” (or “5ive Alive”) tour to promote it. The tour’s earlier legs, especially in North America, were a commercial success: in the first three reported shows, the tour earned over US $1.6 million with more than 25,600 tickets sold. With that momentum behind him, Davido is now bringing that energy back to the African continent, and Kigali will be one of the stops.

Choosing Kigali, and specifically BK Arena as a venue for this tour was no random decision. For Davido and his team, Rwanda represents a vibrant, growing market for Afrobeats and live performances. According to one of the organisers, Bruce Intore of Intore Entertainment, “hosting the 5IVE Tour in Kigali is a major win for Rwanda, as the tour will visit only a few cities across the continent.”  Davido has performed in Kigali before: he was there in 2014 for the country’s Liberation celebrations, again in 2018 as part of his 30 Billion Africa Tour, and most recently in 2023 at the Giants of Africa Festival. The December show will mark his fourth performance in Kigali in just over two years.

For Rwandan fans and the entertainment industry, this concert is a sign of the city’s increasing status as a venue for international superstars. Organisers expect a large crowd drawn not only from Rwanda but from neighbouring countries as well. Venue choice, production quality, and artist status all combine to signal that this event aims to be more than “just another concert”.

What to Expect at the Show

Based on how the “5IVE Alive” tour has played out elsewhere, attendees can expect a high-energy production. At his Nigerian leg stop in Uyo, Davido delivered an electrifying performance for over 30,000 fans with full band, dancers, pyrotechnics and audience participation.  Likewise, in Yola, the show featured surprise on-stage moments such as bringing a fan up during “With You”.

In Kigali, the production is likely to reflect similar ambition: international stage crew, immersive lighting, and a setlist that blends hits from 5IVE with his global classics like “Fall”, “Unavailable”, “If”. The presence of local supporting acts such as Rwandan superstar Kitoko, who is also scheduled to share the stage adds regional flavour.

If you’re planning to attend, securing tickets early is wise. Expect a vibrant crowd, high-end production, and a night that could be described as “unforgettable”. Kagame… sorry—that’s Kigali ready for Davido!
