Burna Boy Makes History Once Again as He Announces Record-Breaking Third Headline Concert at London’s 80,000-Capacity Stadium

Afrofusion superstar Burna Boy is preparing to make history once again after confirming that he will return to London’s iconic Stadium in 2027 for what will be a record-breaking third headline concert at the 80,000-capacity venue. The announcement further cements his status as one of Africa’s biggest global music exports and extends a milestone no other African artist has achieved.

The Grammy-winning singer revealed the news through his official social media platforms, where he teased “London Stadium III” alongside promises of more major announcements in the coming weeks. The announcement came shortly after he unveiled a custom-made diamond pendant created to commemorate his previous two sold-out concerts at the stadium, celebrating one of the most remarkable live performance records by an African artist.

Burna Boy first rewrote the history books in June 2023 when he became the first African artist to headline and sell out the London Stadium during his Love, Damini Tour. At the time, the achievement was widely regarded as a defining moment for Afrobeats on the global stage, proving that an African artist could independently fill one of the United Kingdom’s biggest concert venues.

Rather than being a one-time achievement, Burna Boy repeated the feat in June 2024 when he returned to the same venue for another sold-out concert as part of his I Told Them… Tour. The back-to-back successes established him as the only African artist to headline and sell out the stadium multiple times, a record that will now be extended with his scheduled return in 2027.

The latest announcement continues what has been another landmark year for the Nigerian superstar. In 2026, Burna Boy reached millions of football fans worldwide after collaborating with Colombian icon Shakira on “Dai Dai,” the official anthem of the FIFA World Cup. The song has enjoyed significant commercial success across streaming platforms and further expanded his international audience.

Burna Boy’s touring achievements over the past few years have placed him in a category of his own among African musicians. Beyond his London Stadium record, he has become the first African artist to sell out venues such as Madison Square Garden in New York, Citi Field, La Défense Arena in Paris, GelreDome Stadium in the Netherlands and several other major arenas across North America, Europe and Oceania. His tours have consistently broken attendance and revenue records previously unmatched by any African act.

Although ticket sales for the 2027 concert have yet to begin, the announcement has already generated excitement among fans, with many expecting another sold-out event.
