American rapper Nicki Minaj has publicly reaffirmed her support for US President Donald Trump during a Republican campaign rally in Port Huron, Michigan, as the party prepares for the November midterm elections.

Minaj joined Trump on stage on Sunday, October 25, 2026, at a rally organised to support Republican candidates Mike Rogers, who is running for the US Senate, and John James, who is seeking the governorship of Michigan.

Addressing the crowd, the Grammy nominated rapper praised Trump’s leadership and said she would continue supporting him. She told the president, “It is an honour to stand with you every single time,” adding that she would support him “forever and ever” and back him again if he ran for office.

Minaj also encouraged voters to support Republican candidates, describing the upcoming election as an important turning point for the country. She urged the audience to help elect the party’s candidates, as Republicans seek to strengthen their position ahead of the midterm vote.

The rapper’s appearance marks a further step in her increasingly public association with Trump and his administration. She previously criticised aspects of his immigration policies, particularly the separation of children from their parents at the US border, but has recently appeared at events linked to his presidency.

During the rally, Minaj also spoke against gender-affirming medical treatment for transgender children, saying children should be left out of such issues. Her comments reflected the ongoing political debate over transgender rights and healthcare in the United States.

Trump welcomed the rapper on stage and praised her, joking that she was overshadowing him before later describing her as a “very special person”. The appearance also attracted attention after White House communications director Steven Cheung jokingly suggested on social media that Minaj could become the administration’s next press secretary.

The rally took place as Republicans campaign ahead of the November midterm elections, with Michigan among the states where both parties are seeking support in closely contested races. Minaj’s endorsement adds a high profile celebrity voice to the Republican campaign as candidates attempt to mobilise voters before election day.
