South African superstar Tyla, has added another major achievement to her rapidly growing career after signing a reported multi-million-dollar management deal with Jay-Z’s Roc Nation, one of the entertainment industry’s most influential companies. The partnership is expected to support the Grammy-winning singer’s global expansion across music, touring, branding and other business ventures as she continues her rise on the international stage.

While the Roc Nation announcement has sparked speculation about Tyla’s recording future, there has been no official confirmation that she is leaving her current record label. The singer remains signed to Epic Records, a division of Sony Music Entertainment, through its joint venture with Fax Records, the Johannesburg- and New York-based label that signed her in 2021 after the success of her breakout single, Getting Late. Neither Tyla, Epic Records, Fax Records nor Roc Nation has announced the end of her recording contract or indicated that she will not renew it.

Tyla’s career has grown at an extraordinary pace over the past few years. After making waves in South Africa with Getting Late, she steadily built an international audience before achieving global recognition in 2023 with Water. The viral hit became the first song by a South African solo artist in decades to break into the Billboard Hot 100, sparked a worldwide dance challenge on TikTok, and introduced millions of listeners to her signature blend of amapiano, pop and R&B.

Her momentum has continued ever since. Tyla became the inaugural winner of the Grammy Award for Best African Music Performance with Water before making history by becoming the first artist to win the category twice, thanks to Push 2 Start. She has also collected BET, MTV Europe and MTV Video Music Awards while becoming one of Africa’s most recognisable musical exports. Her second studio album, A*Pop, is scheduled for release on July 24, 2026, through Fax Records and Epic Records, further confirming that her existing recording partnership remains in place.

Founded by Jay-Z in 2008, Roc Nation has become one of the world’s leading entertainment companies, providing artist management, publishing, touring, brand partnerships and film and television services. The company has played a key role in the careers of numerous global stars, making Tyla’s addition another significant endorsement of her international potential.

Industry observers believe the Roc Nation agreement is designed to strengthen Tyla’s worldwide brand rather than replace her current recording arrangements. By combining Epic Records’ recording support with Roc Nation’s management expertise, the South African star appears well positioned to continue expanding her influence across global music markets.
