Hosted by King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima, the visit focuses on strengthening cooperation in areas such as trade, technology, water management, sustainability and cultural exchange.

The long-standing relationship between the two nations dates back to the early 17th century, when Dutch traders became among the first Europeans to establish formal commercial links with Japan. Today, both countries maintain strong economic and diplomatic partnerships.

During the visit, leaders from both nations are expected to discuss global challenges, economic cooperation and opportunities for future collaboration, while also taking part in events highlighting the historic ties between the two countries.
