Nigerian Afrobeats star Rema is set to take the global stage once again after being announced as one of the artists behind “Goals,” a new FIFA World Cup 2026 song alongside Blackpink’s Lisa and Brazilian superstar Anitta.
The collaboration, which has already generated major excitement online, is expected to be part of the growing musical campaign surrounding the 2026 FIFA World Cup scheduled to take place across the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Teasers for the song began circulating on social media ahead of its official release, with fans praising the international blend of Afrobeats, pop, and Latin influences.
The track, titled “Goals,” brings together artists from three different continents, reflecting FIFA’s push to make the tournament a truly global cultural celebration. Rema represents Africa, Lisa brings Asian pop influence through her global K-pop success, while Anitta adds Latin flair from Brazil’s vibrant music scene.
The collaboration further highlights Rema’s growing international influence following the massive global success of his hit single “Calm Down,” which became one of the biggest Afrobeats songs worldwide. Over the past few years, the Nigerian singer has emerged as one of Africa’s leading global music exports, consistently breaking streaming records and earning recognition on major international platforms.
Reports surrounding the FIFA soundtrack project suggest that “Goals” will form part of the official musical lineup connected to the 2026 tournament. FIFA has increasingly embraced multi-artist soundtracks in recent years, moving away from relying on a single anthem song.
The upcoming World Cup is already shaping up to be one of the most entertainment-driven editions in the tournament’s history. Alongside “Goals,” FIFA recently unveiled “Dai Dai,” another major World Cup song performed by Shakira and Burna Boy.
Music and football have long shared a close relationship during FIFA tournaments, with iconic songs such as “Waka Waka,” “Live It Up,” and “Hayya Hayya” becoming global hits during previous World Cups. FIFA appears determined to continue that tradition by assembling globally recognised artists from different cultures and genres for the 2026 edition.
Beyond the soundtrack, several international artists including Rema, Lisa, Anitta, Tyla, Katy Perry, and J Balvin have also reportedly been linked to performances during opening ceremonies and entertainment events tied to the competition.
As anticipation builds ahead of the tournament, fans across social media are eagerly awaiting the full release of “Goals,” with many predicting the song could become one of the defining football anthems of the next World Cup era.
