Nigerian rapper, Ice Prince has opened up about his recent weight loss journey, revealing that discipline, consistency and lifestyle changes completely transformed both his appearance and mindset.
Fans had already begun noticing the physical change in recent months, with many commenting on his slimmer frame and healthier appearance. According to Ice Prince, the journey has not only changed how he looks, but also how he feels mentally and physically.
“I’m excited about how I look now, how I feel. Everything about me right now is just a little bit different,” he said. “It’s the best decision I ever made.”
During a chat with Smackpitarz and Ms Temmy on Cosoro Afrobeats Radio, the rapper admitted that the process turned out to be far easier than he initially imagined. Before starting the journey, he believed giving up certain habits — especially food, drinking and late-night routines — would be almost impossible.
“Rice was my favourite food, I thought I couldn’t do without it,” he joked. If I sneezed before, rice would come out of my nose, now i just eat rice like once a month.”
According to him, one of the major turning points came during conversations around his previous project Starters, when producer Chopstix encouraged him to present himself differently physically.
“He just told me, ‘We need to lose some weight. Lose the belly and present this project with a new look,’” Ice Prince recalled. “And that touched me differently.”
Since then, the rapper says he has embraced a much more disciplined lifestyle. Rice, once a daily staple, is now something he eats only occasionally. He also revealed that he completely changed his sleeping habits, moving away from the late-night studio culture that shaped much of his early career.
“I used to record most of my music at night. These days, I can’t stay up past 10 PM,” he said. “Sleep is very important.”
For Ice Prince, the transformation became less about appearance and more about self-control and mental discipline. He described the experience as proof that he is capable of committing fully to personal growth when necessary.
The rapper’s openness about the process adds another layer to what has already been a deeply reflective period in his career, following the release of Testimony of Grace and conversations around growth, purpose and life beyond music.
