TGMA 2026 Returns to Grand Arena in Last-Minute Venue Switch Ahead of Awards Night

Organisers of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards have confirmed a major venue change for the 2026 edition, announcing that the ceremony will now return to its traditional home at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre.

The decision, made by Charterhouse Productions, comes just days before the highly anticipated awards night, reversing an earlier plan to host the event at the Palms Convention Centre. The 27th edition of the awards is scheduled to take place on May 9, 2026.

In a statement, organisers explained that the move reflects the growing scale and production demands of the awards scheme. They noted that the Grand Arena offers superior infrastructure, including larger capacity and advanced technical capabilities, which are essential for delivering a world-class event.

The Grand Arena has become closely associated with the awards in recent years, serving as its primary venue since 2019. Its design and facilities make it better suited for large-scale staging, broadcast production, and audience engagement—key elements that define the TGMA experience.

This latest development follows earlier uncertainty surrounding venue arrangements. Reports had indicated that organisers initially opted for an alternative location due to logistical concerns, but continued efforts behind the scenes ultimately allowed for a return to the preferred venue.
