But the real breakthrough came days later, when he received an unexpected call from Wizkid’s team inviting him to the studio. The timing couldn’t have been worse, Fola had just travelled to Bristol, hours away from London, and initially thought the call was a prank.
Frustrated but hopeful, he rushed back to London the next day, only to hear nothing for hours. Then, while watching a Chelsea vs. Fulham match, he finally got the message that changed everything: “Baba Nla say, Studio tomorrow.”
The next day, Fola met Wizkid for the first time and recorded a major track with him and DJ Tunez, an experience he described as a turning point. Reflecting on the moment, Fola said his rise wasn’t luck but preparation meeting opportunity: “I’ve put in the hard work. God just crowned the efforts.”
