Nigerian music legend Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, has shut down swirling online rumours suggesting he was arrested in London following a supposed altercation with his wife, Natasha Osawaru.
The speculation, which gained traction after his absence from a scheduled UK tour performance on Thursday, October 2, 2025, was initially sparked by Tosin Silverdam, a controversial social media personality known for stoking celebrity gossip. The claim? That 2Baba had been detained by authorities in connection with a domestic dispute involving his new wife.
In a recently surfaced video posted online, 2Baba appeared alongside Natasha and several close friends, casually and confidently dispelling the rumours. The iconic artist then offered a heartfelt explanation to his fans,
“First of all, I want to say everyone that came out, I appreciate you. We had a medical emergency, it was tough. To the organizers and everyone that came out, we go regroup and make something beautiful happen. And please, if una no sabi something, make una no talk abeg. This ‘allegedly,’ I don tire.”
The singer also made it clear that he has no intention of ignoring fans’ disappointment over the canceled event. He promised that arrangements would be made to compensate ticket holders, and that efforts were already underway to reschedule the missed show.
With the rumours behind him, 2Baba appears focused on moving forward and reconnecting with his fans. His quick and personal response may have helped prevent further reputational damage, a lesson in crisis management for other artists navigating today’s fast-paced digital landscape.
Whether it’s rescheduling his UK performance or working on new music, 2Baba’s message is clear: he’s not going anywhere, and he won’t be silenced by gossip.
